Lee Enterprises, Incorporated (NYSE: LEE), a leading print and digital provider of local news, information and advertising in 53 markets, announced today that it has reached agreement with a significant majority of debt holders for the new terms of revolving credit and term loan facilities. More details can be read at this link.
To make the long story short: Lee’s $689.5 million first-lien term loan will mature in December 2015, instead of 2012 and the debt will pay 6.25 percentage points more than the London interbank offered rate and the lending benchmark will have a 1.25 percent floor. A second-lien credit ($175 million), which will mature in April 2017 rather than 2015, will pay 15 percentage points more than Libor.
Anyways, if you’re private or institutional investor in London’s real-estate, consider to take a glance at properties in the 20057 area of East London. In lights of upcoming 2012 Olympic Games the home prices in area near the newly built Olympic venues are rising around 190 pounds/week. Contact this london mortgage broker to get a quote close to interbank’s rate (much better that Lee Enterprises has) or even think about investing in LSE’s real-estate stocks such as British Land (BLND) or Land Securities (LAND).
Back to Lee Enterprises: debt is being refinanced, no bankruptcy. We should see LEE’s share price appreciation in upcoming trading sessions:
“The refinancing will remove a cloud that has obscured Lee’s formidable strengths in our markets” – stated Mary Junck, Lee’s Chairman and CEO.
