AlumiFuel Power Corporation (AFPW) announced yesterday that it has been awarded a contract to deliver a PBIS-2000 Portable Balloon Inflation System to the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). More importantly, Company has been approached by other military and meteorological users from the US, NATO, and around the world interested in the Portable Balloon Inflation System technology and products.
Mr. David Cade, AlumiFuel Power’s President & CEO, Mr. David Cade, commented:
“This Air Force award validates API’s unique Portable Balloon Inflation System technology and products. The PBIS-2000 is a significant addition to our PBIS family. Not only does this system fill an existing gap for much larger weather balloons, which constitute a greater portion of the market, but it represents a significant advancement in the state of hydrogen generation technology. The greatest inhibitor to launching weather balloons in remote locations — where the military operates and considerable meteorological research is done — is the cost and difficulty of transporting the source of lift gas. The PBIS family will drastically reduce these factors, and enable launches in previously inaccessible areas worldwide; this also creates a logistics supply chain for hydrogen to power fuel cells in the field.”
Today company revealed some details why the PBIS-2000 system can become a global standard following the award of the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) contract following the yesterday’s announcement.
AFPW shares jumped high in value following these updates. As of 12 p.m. EST, AFPW stock traded over 58M shares (5fold 10day average volume) and posted 240% gains as of the high of the day.

AlumiFuel Power Corporation, an early production stage alternative energy company, engages in the generation of hydrogen gas and superheated steam through the chemical reaction of aluminum, water, and proprietary additives. The company’s generated hydrogen feeds fuel cells for portable and back-up power; fills inflatable devices, such as weather balloons; and replaces hard-to-handle and high pressure K-Cylinders. It offers PBIS-1000 portable balloon inflation devices, which enables on the spot generation of hydrogen.
