California man has been charged with securities fraud and other violations in connection with the sale of promissory notes, options contracts and shares of his company’s stock.
Officials say an eight-count indictment was returned against Peter George Szondy of Woodland Hills, Calif. in September. They say he turned himself in to Montgomery County authorities Oct. 19 and was released on $75,000 bond.
The indictment alleges Szondy sold securities valued at about $650,000 to an Alabama investor between 2005 and 2008. It says Szondy failed to repay the notes to the investor and failed to disclose that neither he, his company nor the investments were registered and licensed as required by law.
